It’s always fun to view the before-and-after photographs of home transformations of which there are many below! My collaborative brief with the owner of this wonderful Dartmoor holiday home, was certainly exciting.

The original retro parquet floors and carpentry craftwork throughout many rooms in the house is what led us towards choosing a slightly excentric, mid-century style for Higher Mapstone’s redesign.

I worked my designs around the 3 four-poster kingsize beds that the owner had already purchased and also the beautiful round kitchen table which is fixed and rises directly up from the kitchen floor like a mushroom sculpture.

I changed the wall colours in some rooms but for others, I kept the original paint shades (freshly painted by the previous owner ready for sale) and simply added complimentary wallpaper-accent walls. The ultimate aim was to offer a fun, sensual home for holiday guests to enjoy & revel in like a giant cradle!
